Acceptable Proof of addresses
Table of Contents
- Official Bank/Financial statement
- Municipal rates and taxes invoice
- Utility account (Water, Electricity, Sewerage, or Refuse Removal)
- Official correspondence from South African Revenue Services (SARS)
- Correspondence from a Body Corporate or Share-Block Association/ Valid Lease Agreement
We cannot accept the following:
- Any valid proof of address that is not addressed to the subscriber or customer
- A POA that is older than 3 months
- An Affidavit from the South African Police Services declaring an Address.
- A municipality letter authorized by a local chief or councillor.
- Incomplete Lease Agreement
- Fraudulent/ unofficial self-created documents
- Handwritten documents or notes
- Documents that have been altered or tampered with in any way
- Address labels or envelopes without accompanying documents
- A document with an incomplete or unclear address
- Documents that have been obtained fraudulently or through illegal means
- A document that is not in one of the accepted languages for the specific region or country
- An address that is not in a recognised format for the specific region or country
- A document that is illegible or difficult to read
- A document that is not an original, but rather a copy or printout of an electronic version without a verifiable digital signature
