These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website https://epicrentals.co.za and any rental application or Rent2Buy agreement entered into with EpicRentals (Pty) Ltd (“Epic Rentals”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing the website or submitting a rental application, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Epic Rentals

EpicRentals (Pty) Ltd is a South African private company offering Rent2Buy solutions on consumer electronics, appliances, and other approved products.

Epic Rentals is supported in the credit and finance side of its rental agreements by Digirent (Digifax (Pty) Ltd), our approved rental finance partner.

Epic Rentals and Digirent reserve the right to decline any application without giving reasons. Submission of an application does not in itself create a binding rental agreement — the agreement comes into effect only once your application is approved and the rental contract is signed.

You bear the risk of loss, theft, or accidental damage from the date of delivery. We strongly recommend taking out short-term insurance covering portable possessions while the product remains under the rental agreement.

8. Faulty products and warranty

Manufacturing defects reported within 7 days of delivery are handled in line with our Returns & Refund Policy and the supplier’s manufacturer warranty. Accidental damage, cracked screens, and liquid damage are not covered.

Personal information you provide is processed in line with our Privacy Policy and POPIA. By applying for a rental, you consent to the processing described in that policy, including credit and identity verification by Digirent and the credit bureaux.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epic Rentals will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising out of your use of the website or the rental product, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law (including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008).

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. These are provided for your convenience. Epic Rentals does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those third-party sites.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page tells you when they were last revised. Material changes will be notified to active customers by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the website or the rental service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or your Rent2Buy agreement will be referred first to good-faith negotiation, and failing resolution, to the appropriate court of competent jurisdiction in South Africa, or to a recognised alternative dispute resolution body where applicable.
